Money Talks is a multi-country research initiative polling up to 30,000 people spanning 15 countries to bring credible data insights on how ordinary people understand and connect the issues between climate change, economic policy and development.
Money Talks Climate 2023
In 2023, we polled a representative sample of South Aficans to understand their attitudes towards government increasing public investment into climate action.
Money Talks Tax 2024
In 2024, we presented data and insights into how South Africans felt about taxation policy and if they would support a tax on the super-rich if it would speed up climate action and deliver greater social protections.
Money Talks Debt 2025
In 2025, we brought a focus on debt and austerity, asking South Africans whether they thought the conditions for public borrowing were fair, and if they would support the government to campaign for debt cancellation if it would improve spending on climate action and social services.
